How Ghanians repurposed disposable plastics to provide themselves with clean drinking water

October 13, 2014 1 min read

When the Ghanaians only had clean drinking water available in plastic bags (sachets), they then had the problem of what to do with all the bags that were polluting the rivers and streams.  They also needed to support their families.  They came up the idea of using their traditional basket weaving skills with the plastic waste.  Now they sell beautiful baskets and mats made from the previously disposed plastic.

What small change can you make in your daily routine to prevent the use of disposable plastics and put an end to plastic pollution?
