Turning Plastics Green

November 07, 2014 1 min read

What happened when eco-aware activists go to Argentina where the air is thick from burning plastics and the ground won’t grow gardens?

They get their friends together, take two days to gather plastic bottles and then, using the bottle and bamboo, the build a greenhouse for a local school. The school is now using the greenhouse made of the tops of the bottles to grow trees for their community. They are using the bottom part of the bottles as containers to start the plants. This simple project is making a huge difference in this community, the bottles are recycled and the community has a new resource for growing trees.

Watch as Simply Straws co-founder, Chanelle Sladics, Simply Ambassadors Kjersti Buaas, Jamie Anderson, Cyndi Santini and friends embark on this incredible and inspiring journey.
