Our co-founder, Chanelle Sladics, is an avid snowboarder and knows the importance of taking care of our mountains. She's already extremely passionate about the planet and the environment, but winters are just as important and it's often some don't think about. This is why we love partnering with Protect Our Winters.
About POW:
In 2007, pro snowboarder Jeremy Jones saw that more and more resorts he’d visit were closed due to lack of snow. He realized something wasn't right and wanted to help but couldn't find any organizations that focused on mobilizing the snow-sports community on climate—there was a gap between the impact of climate change and organized action to address it.
So Jeremy founded Protect Our Winters. Since then, POW has grown from a kernel of an idea into a worldwide network of more than 130,000 supporters.
Other concerned pro athletes, individuals, resorts, brand partners and passionate outdoor enthusiasts all became the perfect group to give a national voice to the outdoor sports community. They share a passion that crosses party lines––a unique perspective that de-politicizes climate discussion––and an industry with an economic impact that can’t be ignored.
